Domestic Violence: Court allows Shalini Talwar to collect belongings

In the recent case of domestic violence against Yo Yo Honey Singh, Delhi Court allowed Shalini Talwar to take her belongings from her in-law’s house on 5 September in the presence of two security official and also directs the couple not to indulged in any kinds of unhealthy conversation.

The matter was adjudicated by Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh. Metropolitan Magistrate called Honey Singh and his wife Shalini Talwar to her chamber for the counselling.

After which she allowed Shalini Talwar to take her belongings from her in-law’s house on 5 September in the presence of two security officials.

Punjabi singer Hirdesh Singh popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh’s wife Shalini Talwar had approached a Delhi court alleging physical, mental and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband.

The 38-year-old woman claimed that “Singh and his family broke her mentally and emotionally to such an extent that she started identifying herself as a ‘farm animal’.

The Court directed the couple “Not to engage in any unhealthy conversation or exchange of words on that day”. There lawyers have been asked to be present there, list the items to be prepared and video record the entire act.

Further Honey singh moved an application seeking that the domestic violence case filed against him by his wife be heard in-camera. The Judge is yet to pass an order on the plea.

Further after passing the order the Judge said “May God give us strength to do justice to both the parties,” and the further matter related to Talwar’s prayer for Interim Compensation and residence will be heard on 28 September .

After coming out of the courtroom, Singh said that the counselling done by the judge was good and that everything will be fine.
