Amid the escalating political controversy in Karnataka surrounding the alleged sex video scandal involving JD-S leader Prajwal Revanna, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case has reportedly issued a notice to him. Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, has been asked to appear before the SIT for investigation within 24 hours, according to sources.

Additionally, a notice has been issued to JD-S MLA H.D. Revanna, Prajwal Revanna’s father and the second accused in the case.

In response to the developments, the JD-S has suspended Prajwal Revanna, who is the sitting party MP and Lok Sabha candidate from Hassan. The suspension comes after the Congress government in Karnataka formed the SIT to investigate allegations of sexual abuse against him. The notice directs both Prajwal Revanna and H.D. Revanna to present themselves before SP Seema Latkar within the stipulated period.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also taken cognisance of the case and has requested a report from the Karnataka Police within three days. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan, urging swift action to apprehend the accused, who is reported to have fled the country.

However, Prajwal Revanna’s family has stated that he will cooperate with the investigating officer whenever summoned.
