The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted the details of the forensic laboratory reports confirming brutal attacks and torture of Jayaraj and Benniks, the father ans son who died in police custody in June this year.

The report confirmed that the DNA that had been collected from the Sathankulam lock-up, toilets, SHO’s room and the lathis matched with that of the father and son’s DNA.

The chargesheet framed cites the expert opinion of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, “That deceased Benniks and Jeyaraj were subjected to brutal torture by the accused police officials on the evening of 19.06.2020 and intervening night of 19-20.06.2020 in the Police Station Sathankulam, stands established.”

It also confirmed that such brutality was sufficient in ordinary course of nature to cause death. Further, both of the deceased were made to clean the blood splattered from their body after beating with their own clothes.

The CBI report gives a track record of all that happened from the evening that Jayaraj was arrested and his son went to the police station after hearing of his father’s arrest.
