The NIA has filed a charge sheet against 12 people, including 09 Bangladeshi nationals, in connection with a human trafficking case at the NIA Special Court at Hyderabad on October 17.

The accused were involved in trafficking girls from across the border for prostitution, an official said.

The Charge sheet was filed under sections of the IPC, Section 3, 4, 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the Foreigners Act at Pahadishareef PS in Hyderabad, following the arrest of 10 human traffickers by police from two brothels.

The case was originally registered on September 21 last year at Pahadishareef police station in Hyderabad, under sections of IPC and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Police team has rescued four Bangladeshi girls from the brothels and seized several digital devices, counterfeit Indian identity documents and other incriminating material in the operation.

The NIA investigation established that the arrested accused were associates of Rahul Amin Dhali and Abdul Barik Shaik who illegally trafficked young girls from Bangladesh to India and vice versa, according to the official.

Dhali was arrested by NIA in another case. The money factor is also involved in trafficking across the borders and commission paid to Dhali for same.

Dhali and other 10 arrested accused had illegally entered India in the 1980’s and established a racket of prostitution along with Yusuf Khan and Bithi Begum, who are husband and wife, in different parts of India.

The accused conspired with their Bangladesh associates to traffic girls to India by crossing Sonari river by Kolkata, and then take them to various destinations.

These girls are lured with promise of lucrative jobs and better life quality. The rescued young girls are presently at shelter homes and the arrested accused are in judicial custody in Hyderabad.
