A city-based lawyer has filed a criminal complaint against Actress Kangana Ranaut for a ‘derogatory’ tweet on Mumbai Police in relation to the investigation in SSR’s death.
The complaint has been filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Andheri.
The lawyer claimed that the tweet “defamed our country, its police, authorised government bodies, executive machineries all being established by law in India”.
The complaint seeks action against the Actress on charges on sedition, incitement and promoting enmity between different groups.
Kangana Ranaut had allegedly made fun of the Judiciary when the Bandra Court had passed an order directing the Mumbai police to file an FIR against her recently.
The matter will be heard on November 10.
