Shut Down of All Nepal Courts as Nepal Mourns death of Ex-Cj Prasad Singh

Supreme Court of Nepal has decided to shut down all the courts in the country as a mark of respect to the departed former Chief Justice, Surendra Prasad Singh.

The decision to observe this closure with grief was announced by the Supreme Court after holding an emergency meeting in this regard.

Surendra Prasad Singh was the ninth Chief Justice of Nepal who had held office for close to 2 years. His appointment was made by the country’s former King, Birendra.

Singh, aged 89, had passed away recently.
