The Supreme Court awarded Anticipatory Bail to the Actor and Model Poonam Pandey in the Porn Films Case.

The Pre-Arrest Bail was granted by the Bench of Justice Vineet Saran and BV Nagarathna.

The Bench had issued Notice on the Appeal filed by the Model challenging the Bombay High Court Order dated November 25,2021 which rejected her plea for Anticipatory Bail.

The Bench stated that, “No coercive action against the Appellant. Issue the Notice”.

The Appeal claimed that her Anticipatory Bail was rejected even though she had totally cooperated with the Investigation conducted by the Police and on the out-set there were no Offences recorded against her.

The Appeal stated that, “While the Appellant is not the owner or business partner in any such, websites or Online platforms, the only Allegation against her is that some video portraying the Appellant is being surfaced on the website. With reference to the same it is necessary to note that these websites which have some videos of the Appellant have been blocked and disabled by the Government of India.”

It furthermore added that the complaints and first information report (FIR) was filed against the online websites and platforms which were displaying obscene material or cinematography but not against the Appellant and neither she had any role in operating the websites or platforms.
