The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday 18, 2022 raided 10 to 12 places in Punjab with regard to the Money Laundering Cases against the firms entangled in Illegal Sand Mining Case.

The Federal Agency is said to be taking action against the Offenders according to the Provisions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)

The Investigating Agency had also raided the residence along with office premises of the suspects that have premises linked to the Sand Mafia Bhupinder Singh Honey.

The Agency had primarily denied to link any political connections in the Case and said that further details will be made public once the raid is inferred.

However, Honey being a relative of the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has arisen some political perturbation.

He had reportedly started a firm under the name of Punjab Realtors to get all the sand mining contracts.

The Investigating Agency has a suspicion that all the black money was being invested in procuring the sand mining contract as the company ‘Punjab Realtors’ being a small-scale firm is very dubious for receiving the contracts worth crores.
