Former Kerala Police Officer, S Vijayan, alleged in Kerala High Court on Wednesday that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan influenced the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the 1994 Surveillance Case in association with him by initiating Land Deals worth crores with the then Investigating Officials.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating Vijayan along with 17 other former Kerala Police and Intelligence Bureau officials, who are held of dishonestly implicating Narayanan and others in the 1994 Espionage Case.

S Vijayan’s Advocate informed Justice R Narayana Pisharadi of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday that he had submitted Encumbrance Certificates of several acres of land in the Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu that recognized Narayanan or his son as the Power of Attorney Holders.

Further, Vijayan argued in the High Court that the lands were sold to CBI officials, pertaining that this material was adequate for the Trial Court to pass a Notification for a Probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Nambi Narayanan and Agency Officials.

The High Court further stated that the Trial Court solely rejected Vijayan’s complaint and did not deny it and that he could further Appear with a new complaint containing all important documents to that Court.

The High Court further highlighted that it will pass a Notification associating Vijayan’s Petition and will issue Notices to all parties, including Narayanan.

In August, the High Court granted Anticipatory Bail to Vijayan and three others in the CBI’s Conspiracy Case against them.

Fourteen other individuals were also charged in association with Narayanan’s Arrest and Detention in the Spying Case.

Aside from Narayanan, two Maldivian women named Mariyam Rasheeda and Fouziyya Hassan were also Held as Accused in the Case, both spent more than three years in Jail before their Release.
