Fantasy sports platform Dream11 has withdrawn its petition in the Bombay High Court challenging show cause notices issued by authorities for an alleged Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion totaling over ₹1,200 crore.

The notices accused Dream11 of evading the 28% GST for providing gambling services during the financial years 2017-18 and 2018-19.

The State tax department’s Deputy Commissioner withdrew the show cause notice, prompting Dream11 to withdraw its plea.

The Directorate General of GST (DGGST) is expected to issue a fresh show cause notice. Another online gaming company, Playerzpot Media, filed a similar plea challenging retrospective amendments to the GST Act.
