Renowned cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken legal action by filing a lawsuit in the Ranchi court against two key figures from Aarka Sports and Management Limited, accusing them of engaging in fraudulent activities amounting to over INR 15 crore.

The lawsuit specifically targets Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwas, officials associated with Aarka Sports and Management Limited.

Back in 2017, Dhoni had entered into a contractual agreement with Aarka Sports regarding the establishment of a global-level cricket academy. When the company failed to uphold its end of the agreement, Dhoni issued multiple notices. However, receiving no response, he decided to terminate the rights granted to the company.

The agreement, forged in 2017, outlined that Aarka Sports was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits with Dhoni. Allegedly, the company did not honor these terms, resulting in significant financial losses for the cricketer.

Dayanand Singh, representing Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, asserted that Aarka Sports’ non-compliance with the agreed-upon terms caused substantial financial harm to Dhoni. In an attempt to rectify the situation, Dhoni sent a notice to Aarka Sports on August 15, 2021, ultimately revoking the rights granted to the company.

Despite several legal notices from Dhoni, Aarka Sports remained unresponsive.

In a parallel development, Simant Lohani, a close friend of Dhoni, who goes by the name Chittu, has also lodged a complaint. Lohani alleges that he faced threats from Mihir Diwakar after legal action was taken against Aarka Sports.

The unfolding legal proceedings shine a light on the complexities surrounding Dhoni’s business dealings and the alleged misconduct by his former associates.
