The Covid-19 vaccine will be made available for all citizens above the age of 18 years. This availability will come to effect from May 1. This much-anticipated announcement comes at a time when India experiences an unprecedented surge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said,
“India is vaccinating people at a world pace record and we will continue with this with even greater momentum.”
This is a statement from the meeting where the decision to vaccinate all adults was taken in the country.
This news comes as a major step in controlling the second-deadlier wave of Covid-19 in India where the infection tally has reached up to 15,061,919. The toll from the disease has gone up to 178,769 as stated by the Union Ministry of Health and Family welfare.
