On the 18th of April, the Worli Police arrested three persons, including a 17-year-old, for allegedly assaulting a young boy to death. The trio suspected that the victim was a mobile thief.
This incident took place in the early hours of Sunday at Worli, Mumbai. A Police Officer at the Worli Station said that, “The deceased was a drug addict. The accused saw him near the Doordarshan building and alleged that he was trying to steal a mobile phone”.
The accused caught hold of the victim and started beating him with bamboo sticks and iron rod. Anil Koli, a Senior Inspector of the Worli Police station stated that, “with the help of CCTV cameras and human intelligence we learnt about the accused and arrested them within four hours of the crime”.
A murder case has been registered and the trio was caught.
The accused minor, will be sent to a children’s remand home. The Police are on the look out for one more accused who is a truck driver. He had fled from the scene after the murder.
The police said that the accused persons are all employed at different places.
A Police Officer said, “We are on the lookout for the missing accused and will nab him soon”.
