A Nalanda court issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest against former Union Minister Sharad Yadav. This warrant is for alleged violation of the model code of conduct.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM-1) of Bihar Sharif Court, Prabhakar Jha, issued the warrant against the former Janata Dal (United) national president due to his repeated absence from the case hearings.

Additional Public Prosecutor Suruchi Kumari informed that the Court recently imposed a fine of Rs. 1000 on Yadav for intentional absence during case hearings.

He is accused of provoking religious sentiments in a poll meeting at Shram Kalyan Kendra where he said that those who would not vote for JD(U) candidate would land in Jehanum (hell).

A case was filed against the veteran leader in a Bihar Sharif police station based on the statement of the then-circle officer Sunil Kumar Verma. He had then surrendered, and the Court granted him regular bail.

Meanwhile, It is common knowledge that Yadav is suffering from several medical ailments and has been visiting the hospital frequently.
