Baghpat Court: Fraud Case against Sahara Chairman Subrata Roy

A Local Court in Baghpat on Monday lodged Registration of a Case of Fraud against Sahara Group Chairman Subrata Roy for reportedly not Indemnifying the money of investors from the District.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Preeti Singh passed a Notification while hearing an Appeal of Petitioner Anand Kumar, a resident of Guarana in the Baraut Kotwali area.

Somendra Singh Dhaka representing the Petitioner claimed that some people had invested money in Sahara India’s schemes. Later when the time for Maturity due came to collect the amount the group denied to pay the matured amount.

Further, an application was submitted to the Superintendent of Police Kumar’s behalf.

The application stated that necessary action should be taken against the group and a First Information Report should be lodged against them, arguing that there was Negligence in action being taken. 

Furthermore, Kumar then filed a Petition in the Baghpat Court against 18 people, including the Sahara India Chairman Subrata Roy.

After the Trial, the Chief Judicial Magistrate directed the Baraut Kotwali to lodge a case. 

However, further Baghpat Superintendent of Police Neeraj Jadaun highlighted that no such Notices have been issued yet to the Police so far.
