By reopening a consulate in Jerusalem and providing aid to help the war ravaged Gaza strip, Antony Blinken, US Secretary has promised to rebuild state’s relation with Palestinians.

While the US policy under the presidency of Donald Trump shuttered the diplomatic mission for Palestinians and slashed aid to Palestinian authority, this announcement made a complete break on previous policy.

The announcement comes on the trip to the Middle East designed to shore up ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza.

The state has announced that the Biden administration would ask Congress for $75m in aid for Palestinians, including $5.5m in immediate aid for rebuilding Gaza.

Earlier with the meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Blinken pledged that the state would not allow Hamas to benefit from the funds state announced.
