Nepal Govt Crisis: Opposition to file Writ Petition against House Dissolution

Nepal’s opposition alliance has decided to pile writ petition against the “unconstitutional” dissolution of House of Representatives by the President.

The petition was scheduled to be filed on 23 May, but due to inadequate time, it was postponed to be filed on 24 May.

The leaders of alliance were engaged in conducting meeting and collecting signatures of the Law makers and various parties.

Although the signatory process has still not ended, the majority has already signed and is in against the decision of the President.

The President, Bidya devi Bhandari on 22 May dissolved the House of representatives announcing mid-poll elections to be held in November which resulted in sparked protests by NCP led by his rival Prachanda.
