Foreign Minister Le Drian expressed the possibility of tighter restrictions for the people wishing to travel from Britain.

The concern comes after the worrying COVID virus variant, which apparently was first detected in India, is now spreading in Britain.

Drian said that strict coronavirus restrictions might be imposed for British tourists in summers, after tourism opens, in order to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.

The minister suggested that Britain might be included in a health category of its own, including in the list where India and other 15 countries are already facing strict restrictions.

Le Drian further added “health measures that are a bit stronger” could be applied for British tourists.
