Mr. Victor Nayak completed his graduation from Haldia Law College, Vidyasagar University in 2010. During his, under graduation days he held many important portfolios in his institute such as Student Convener for the Debating and Mooting Society and also Student Coordinator for the Institute Newsletter.

Mr. Victor Nayak participated and presented papers in a number of conferences and seminars of National and International repute. Then he went on to complete his Masters in Law from the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, C.G. in 2012. His specialization for LL.M. was in Business Laws.

Mr. Victor Nayak wrote his LL.M. dissertation on the topic of ‘Bhopal Gas Leak and Corporate Liability: Reassessing the Compensation Doctrine’. After his masters, Mr. Nayak joined academics when he joined the Institute of Law, Nirma University and worked as Assistant Professor from August 2012 to March 2015.

During his tenure at ILNU, he helped in developing the syllabus of Corporate Law and various other subjects related to the same discipline such as Bankruptcy and Insolvency and Mergers and Acquisition. After leaving ILNU he joined Disha Law College Raipur, C.G. for a brief period from March 2015 to July 2015 following which Mr. Victor Nayak joined his present place of employment which is School of Law, Galgotias University in July 2015.

During his tenure at ILNU had handled many administrative and academic positions such as Faculty Convener for the Batch of 2012-2017 and Internship and Placement Coordinator of ILNU. During this academic stint, he presented a number of research papers in reputed institutions such as Banaras Hindu University, WBNUJS Kolkata, Gujarat Technical University, Gujarat University, RGNUL Patiala to name a few.

Mr. Victor Nayak participated in the Professional Development Program for Lawyers and Law Teachers on Natural Resources Law and Public Interest Advocacy from 21st to 25th June 2013 at National Law School, Bangalore organised by IBA-CLE Chair, NLSIU, and Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training.

Mr. Victor Nayak participated and presented a paper on Corporate Fraud and Companies Bill, 2012: Revitalising and Reforming Investment in the track on “Challenges and opportunities of Legal Services (industry)” at the 3rd Annual National Conference on the theme of Vision 2020: Future of Law and Legal Transformation held on 23rd and 24th January 2013 at ILNU which was adjudged as the best paper in the conference in the said track.

During his present employment at GUSOL, Mr. Victor Nayak has not only participated in many conferences and seminars at the National and International levels but also organised and delivered expert lectures and Faculty Development Program in the area of Corporate and Allied Laws. He has been invited as a resource person in many International Conferences, Moot Court activities to disseminate and highlight the issues related to Corporate and Business Laws.

Mr. Victor Nayak is presently also looking into the Internship of the students at GUSOL and actively engages in guiding the students during as well as in the process of getting the right internships based upon the strengths of the concerned internee.

Mr. Victor Nayak has been the Division Chair of BBA LLB (Hons.) of the UG program at GUSOL where he has proactively provided his inputs and streamlined the course curriculum of Corporate and Allied subjects which are taught at the UG and PG Program of GUSOL. He has been also invited to be the syllabus reviewer of Institutions of national repute.

Recently Mr. Victor Nayak attended the Virtual Summer School On Arbitration organised by ADRHOC in association with Beihai Asia International Arbitration Centre from 12th to 21st June 2021.At present, Mr. Nayak is pursuing his Doctorate Degree from WBNUJS, Kolkata in the area of Takeover Laws.

LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – Mr. Victor Nayak started his academic career in 2012 and since then he has taught a variety of subjects namely; Company Law, ADR and Mediation Law, Competition Law, Corporate Governance, Corporate Insolvency, Mergers and Acquisitions, Law on Infrastructure Development, Property Law, Law of Contract and Interpretation of Statutes.

Mr. Nayak has also guided his LL.M. students in their LL.M dissertations in the area of Corporate and Business Law upon issues such as corporate criminalization, corporate social responsibility, gender diversification on corporate boards and corporate restructuring in banking industry.

Mr. Victor Nayak believes that teaching is a journey that is undertaken by the teacher and the student jointly and if any one of them loses focus during the journey then the goal attainment becomes difficult. As most students find the lack of practical exposure in the classroom teaching a major gap in their learning process, so he has made it a point to ensure that the practical insight related to the subject is not lost. For example, while teaching Corporate Law (apart from guiding students to write quality research articles) he had assigned project work to his students related to Creating a Company and documentation where the students, comprising of a group of 4 to 5, were required to do compliance documentation in various stages until winding up the business.
