Renuka Singh Saruta is an Indian Politician who is the current Minister of State for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs since 2019. Her political affiliations are with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BACKGROUND- Renuka Singh was born in Pondi village of Korea District in Chhattisgarh to Shri Fool Singh and Smt. Kailash Devi. She got married to Shri Narendra Singh in 1983 and has four children, 2 sons, and 2 daughters.

UPBRINGING & EDUCATION– Renuka Singh Saruta hails from Pondi village, Chhattisgarh. She has completed her higher secondary education. She has a keen interest in reading and poetry. She has taken various initiatives to promote education, conservation of the environment and worked closely with the Beti Bachaao, Bati Padhaao campaign.

WALK OF LIFE- Renuka Singh started her political career in 2003 when she was elected to the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and became the Minister of State (Independent Charges) for the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Family Welfare. She got re-elected in the year 2008. Renuka however, lost her position in 2013 to a senior Congress leader, Khelsai Singh. In the 2019 General Election, she was elected to the Narendra Modi cabinet as the Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN- Saruta promoted the demand for Ration Cards, Sulabh Shouchalay, and schools for the poor. She helped the poor in getting their long due pensions and fought with women in getting a sanction of funds during pregnancy from the Government of India. She works for the upliftment of the tribal and the poor and encourages them to get proper education and participate in politics.
