BACKGROUND- Ramayyagari Subhash Reddy is a Judge of Supreme Court of India. He served as the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. He also served as the Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court.

He has done his graduation in B.Sc. from Andhra Vidyalaya College, Hyderabad. He was born in Medak District, Telangana. He enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh on 30/10/1980 and practiced in High Court of Andhra Pradesh for 22 years and practiced in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional and almost all other branches of Law. He served as the Standing Counsel of premier institutions like S.V. University and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

A Division Bench presided by R. Subhash Reddy, held that Special Court under the Electricity Act, 2003 can take cognizance of the offence under Section 151 of the Act which is otherwise forbidden under Section 193 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

  • Rakesh Kumar Agarwalla Vs National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, 2020 (Writ Petion (Civil) No. 1030 of 2020)

 A 3-judge bench including R Subhash Reddy, quashed the National Law Aptitude Exam (NLAT) conducted by National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru and directed the admission of students in NLSIU has to be necessarily through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
