REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT- When Danve resigned from his post of a minister in 2015, he was appointed as the President of Maharashtra BJP by Amit Shah, the national president of BJP. Following his appointment, he became the only second person in Maharashtra BJP to hold office while also being a member of the parliament.
Dande Raosaheb Dadarao represents Bhartiya Janata Party in the 17th Lok Sabha and is a Minster of State for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the Modi Government which was formed in May 2019.

BACKGROUND – Danve Raosaheb Dadarao has been a member of various political committees and has also held various leadership positions including that of secretary, chairman, vice president and president. He started off as a sarpanch and is now a minister of state. He resigned the post of minister of Consumer affairs to hold the position of presidency of the BJP. He is now a part of the Modi cabinet as a minister of state for the ministry of consumer affairs, food and pubic distribution
UPBRINGING & EDUCATION – Danve Raosaheb Dadarao was born in Jalna, Maharashtra to a middle class family. He is said to have rural roots. He completed his BA from JES, Jalna. In 1977, he married Nirmala Tai and the couple has three daughters and one son. His constituency belongs to the Bhartiya Janata Party and he represents BJP in the 16th Lok Sabha.
WALK OF LIFE- In the last 30 years, from Sarpanch to an MP to later minister, Raosaheb has come a long way and has held various leadership positions. Earlier, he was a general secretary and twice a vice president. Danve has been a renowned leader with rural roots. He started his journey in 1990. He is also a five time consecutive member of parliament. During the general elections that were held in 2014, he won the Jalna constituency or the fourth time. Immediately afterwards, he was sworn in by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the minister of state for the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution, the position which he held till March 2015.
MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN- Danve Raosaheb Dadarao has introduced the policy of ‘one nation, one ration card’ on a pilot basis in a cluster of six states. His policy is largely to cover migrant workers and daily wage earners.
He also claims to have taken steps to control the menace of counterfeiting and piracy. He said that several initiatives were taken to strengthen enforcement agencies through regular training and sensitization programs have been undertaken by the cell for intellectual property rights, promotion and management with police, customs and the judiciary.

CONTROVERSIES/CASES – Danve Raosaheb Dadarao has been charged with corruption charges. Also, in 2017 the Tur production in Maharashtra had gone up to 20.35 lakh tons due to a good rainy season and as a result the prices fell down. When this question was addressed to Danve he made a derogatory statement and referred to the farmers as ‘saale’ due to which protest was held by the shiv sena and he was also criticized by the opposition parties.
He later expressed his regrets concerning the statement. In December 2020, he also claimed that China and Pakistan were behind the on-going protests of the farmers.
