Rhea Chakraborty’s case against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters transferred to CBI

Mumbai- Mumbai Police Following Court instructions, the complaint of Rhea Chakraborty against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters transferred from Bandra police station to the CBI. The case will now be the CBI’s responsibility to carry on further investigations in this case. This will be added to the other matters that it is handling in this issue.

Apart from Priyanka Singh allegations have also been levelled against Dr Tarun Kumar of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and others for forgery under Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and Tele Medicine Practice Guidelines, 2020

The case filed by Rhea Chakraborty with Mumbai Police against actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters and others for abetment to suicide and criminal conspiracy by prescribing him medicines banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as per the orders by the Supreme Court.

The case has been registered at Bandra police station under sections 420, 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306, 120(B) and 34 of IPC and sections 8(c), 21, 22(A), and 29 of NDPS Act.

Mumbai Police spokesperson, N Ambika said: “As per the complaint of Rhea Chakraborty, a case has been registered at Bandra Police Station, Mumbai Cr. No. 576/2020 under sections 420, 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306, 120B, 34 IPC and read with sections 8(c), 21, 22(A), 29 of NDPS Act. In line with orders of the Supreme Court of India, the case is duly transferred to CBI for further investigation.”

In her complaint, Rhea has accused Priyanka of molesting her. She wrote, “Priyanka Singh started touching to my body with unusual behaviour and then she started molesting me and started demanding sexual relationship.”

The complaint also stated that Priyanka had sent Sushant a prescription by Dr Tarun Kumar and he “appears to have prescribed medication controlled under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 to Sushant without any consultation as mandated by law.” The complaint further stated that the “drugs prescribed by the doctor (Dr Tarun Kumar) were prohibited from being prescribed electronically under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020.”

Vikas Singh family lawyer of Sushant’s family on said that if the police accept Rhea’s complaint, the matter will be taken to the Supreme Court.
