A 30-year-old Constable of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary deployed at the Delhi High Court allegedly shot himself dead with his service pistol on Wednesday, inside the Court premises.
The deceased Tinku Ram, a resident of Kotkasim in Alwar, Rajasthan, had joined duty on Wednesday around 9.30 am after coming back from a leave.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Deepak Yadav, said, “A constable of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary deployed in High Court Security has reportedly died by suicide using his service weapon. This morning, he came on duty at around 9.30 am. He had joined duty today after coming back from leave.”
DCP further said, “The probe is underway to find out the circumstances prompting him to take this step. No suicide note has been recovered.”
According to the Police, there was no foul play in the Constable’s death. Police are speaking with his colleagues and family members to uncover what drove the man to commit suicide.
The incident has raised significant security concerns in the Court premises.
