Maharashtra Legislature passes supplementary demands of INR 21,076 crore

The two houses of the Maharashtra legislature passed Supplementary demands of INR 21,076.33 crores. This decision to approve the demands put forth by the State Government came after much debate and deliberation.

The State government had tabled the demands in the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council ahead of the State budget. The Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway project commanded INR 2000 crores. INR 1149.67crores were sought for the Mumbai Metro project and the power tariff concessions provided to agriculture pumps, INR 1866 crores were allotted.

There was also an allotment of the Supplementary funds made for the payment of pensions and other retirement benefits to government employees.
