Maharashtra Governor approaches to SC challenging Uttarakhand HC notice for contempt proceeding

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari filed a plea seeking Supreme Court intervention in notice issued by Uttarakhand High Court.

Uttarakhand High Court has admitted contempt proceedings plea against Koshiyari for not paying the market rent of a government bungalow allocated to him as a former Chief Minister.

A Plea was filed in Uttarakhand High Court, alleged that Maharashtra Governor, Koshyari, has till date not paid the market rent for a government bungalow allocated to him as a former Chief Minister.

Uttarakhand High Court on October 20, 2020, issued a notice and sought Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari reply for contempt proceeding against him for failure to follow court order to pay market rent for a government bungalow allocated to him as a former Chief Minister.
