EOW arrested a Man for duping 4,000 DDA homebuyers of ₹400 crore

Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police arrested Harender Tomar, resident of Dwarka in Delhi, for cheating homebuyers in the name of land pooling policy of the Delhi Development Authority. Economic wing also said he has collected over ₹400 crores from about 4,000 homebuyers in the name of land cost.

Accused had duped hundreds of homebuyers and absconding since last year, was arrested at Kochi airport in Kerala while trying to flee to Maldives.

Economic Offences Wing officials said, “During investigation, it emerged that about ₹120 crore was transferred from the accounts of Revanta society into the account of “Shree Siddhi Vinayak Realtors and Securities” against which only 11.77 acres of land was transferred to the society and the remaining amount was misappropriated and siphoned off to various other entities and for personal use,”.

As per records accused is a declared absconder. Accused sold his old residential accommodation at Roshanpura in Najafgarh and went underground from last few months.

Delhi Court issued a Look out Circular against him and he was detained at Kochi airport by the immigration authorities while trying to flee to Maldives, the officer said.
