A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage as it depicts popular social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav allegedly involved in assaulting fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur, known as Maxtern, in Gurugram.
Thakur claims that he was attacked by Yadav and his companions following a heated social media altercation. The altercation originated from Thakur’s posts questioning Yadav’s association with Munawar Faruqui, another Bigg Boss winner, during the Indian Street Premier League’s opening match on March 7. Thakur criticized Yadav, a vocal Hindutva supporter, for aligning with Faruqui, who had faced legal issues over remarks about Hindu deities in the past.
In response to Thakur’s posts, Yadav allegedly labeled him a “hypocrite.” Their online spat escalated when Thakur shared a screenshot of their purported conversation, arranging a meeting in Gurugram. Thakur later claimed in a video that Yadav and his associates assaulted him around 2 am on March 8, following their rendezvous.
Thakur stated, “I went there alone but he (Elvish) came with 8-10 men. They beat me up. I have a recording of the incident which I will share in the morning. I am alright but just got this cut on my lip.”
A subsequent video surfaced, purportedly showing Yadav and his followers assaulting Thakur inside a garments shop.
This isn’t the first time Elvish Yadav has courted controversy. He was previously linked to an incident involving snakes and snake venom recovered from a rave party in Noida. Though initially named in the FIR, Yadav dismissed the allegations, claiming they were baseless. However, during police questioning, he implicated singer Fazilpuria in providing the snakes for the party. A video showing Yadav handling snakes also circulated online, though Fazilpuria clarified it was unrelated to the party and was part of his music album shoot.
