DSLSA’s National Lok Adalat Sets Records: Over 1.7 Lakh Cases Settled, Rs. 3428.67 Crore in Settlements

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) recently conducted a landmark National Lok Adalat, marking a significant milestone in resolving legal disputes. Held across various courts and tribunals in Delhi, the event witnessed a record-breaking settlement of 1,72,748 cases, amounting to Rs. 3428.67 crore.

The event, organized under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, saw active participation from judges and litigants alike. With a focus on expediting proceedings and ensuring accessibility for all, the Lok Adalat addressed a wide range of cases, including those related to traffic challans, criminal and civil matters, motor accident claims, and more.

DSLSA’s Member Secretary, Mukesh Kumar Gupta, praised the efforts of Justice Manmohan, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi and Executive Chairperson of DSLSA, in advocating for alternative dispute resolution techniques. He emphasized the importance of promoting conciliation and amicable settlements, making the legal system more equitable and accessible.

The National Lok Adalat also highlighted the significant role played by transgender individuals, acid attack survivors, and persons with disabilities, who served as Associate Members at various court complexes. Their inclusion underscored DSLSA’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the justice system.

Overall, the National Lok Adalat exemplified the success of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in alleviating the burden on the judicial system and delivering swift justice to the people.
