The Railways in Odisha has requested a CBI investigation and implied the possibility of deliberate sabotage following a train crash. Additionally, two damaged tracks have been fixed, but there are still numerous unidentified bodies.
Following the train crash in Balasore, the railway authorities have requested a CBI investigation. This comes shortly after Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the “root cause” of the accident and those responsible for the “criminal” act have been identified. Railway officials have also hinted at the possibility of “sabotage” and manipulation of the electronic interlocking system, which is responsible for detecting trains.
In response, various opposition parties have intensified their demands for the resignation of Railway Minister Vaishnaw, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge emphasizing the need to hold individuals accountable at all levels.
