An unpleasant incident unfolded in the premises of Kerala High Court in the morning, today when a person allegedly aggrieved over the pendency of a habeas corpus petition poured motor oil on the vehicle of V. Shircy, a judge of the Kerala High Court, just when he was about to enter the court premises at around 9.45 a.m.

The accused was reportedly caught by the appointed security official and handed over to Central police. He hails from Kottayam and his identity is yet to be affirmed as police continue to interrogate him.

His action was allegedly in protest against the delay in disposing of a habeas corpus request regarding the disappearance of one Jasna Maria, a second year B. Com student from Pathanamthitta in March 2018.

As per police sources, the accused, who was allegedly associated with an action council seeking justice for the missing lady, was holding up close to a shop and waiting near the High Court entrance gate but suddenly turned up and poured engine oil over the vehicle.

He was also holding a placard demanding justice for Jasna Maria.

The High Court registrar and senior police officials visited the scene. The accused is being interrogated at the Central police station.
