Haryana Police released a statement which informed that the Former Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was arrested and released on Bail in an alleged Casteist remark case in compliance with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Order.
The Cricketer is accused of making Casteist remarks on Instagram chat last year. A Hansi resident, Rajat Kalsan, had alleged that the Cricketer made an objectionable remark while referring to another Cricketer.
As Police mentioned, it was a ‘Formal Arrest’ when he had gone to Hansi Town in Hisar and was subsequently released on Bail.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police of Hansi stated, “Yuvraj Singh came to Hansi on Saturday and we made a Formal Arrest. He was released on Bail bond after a few hours. “
However, Singh also expressed regret over the comments and said that he was ‘misunderstood’, further stating, “However, as a responsible Indian, I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same.”
