The West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) has notified that the interviews for appointing teachers for upper primary schools will be starting from next week.

The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) Chairman Subhasankar Sarkar said that the whole interview process will take 12 weeks.

This announcement was made after the Calcutta High Court lifted its interim order on the selection process of appointment of roughly 14,500 teachers for upper primary schools in the state.

Some of the candidates moved to the Court claiming that their names did not appear on the list and also complained that SSC was not following the rules in conducting the appointment procedures.

The Court had passed its interim stay orders which was later lifted by the Court itself.

The officers have also said that an appeal for review to the commission can be made by those who are not satisfied with the list of interviewees. Review requests can also be sent by a registered post or by e-mail to the commission

There will be around 140 candidates that will be called for interviews for 100 posts.
