The verdict in the sexual harassment case involving Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, known for her role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has ruled in her favor. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi has been ordered to clear the outstanding dues owed to her, along with paying a compensation of Rs 5 Lakhs. The case was registered against Modi, along with Sohail Ramani (Operations Head) and Jatin Bajaj (Executive Producer), by the Powai Police based on a complaint filed by Bansiwal under IPC sections 354 and 509.

Bansiwal shared her experience with ETimes, revealing that the verdict was delivered on February 15, 2024. She stated that Modi has been directed to pay her due amount, along with additional compensation for deliberately withholding her payment, totaling around Rs 25-30 lakh. An additional Rs 5 lakh has been imposed on Modi for harassment. However, she expressed that while she is glad her harassment was recognized, she doesn’t feel she has received proper justice yet.

Last year, Bansiwal mentioned to Pinkvilla that she filed a FIR after facing difficulties in registering it initially. She expressed relief that the FIR was finally registered and stated her cooperation with the authorities in providing any necessary information.

The allegations against Modi include instances where he allegedly made inappropriate comments to Bansiwal, such as expressing a desire to kiss her and inviting her to his room for whiskey. These allegations were a focal point in the case, which has now resulted in a verdict favoring Bansiwal.
