Two women raped during Post-poll violence in Bengal approach Supreme Court

A minor girl of age 17 and a woman aged 64 was allegedly gage raped by the supporters and workers of TMC (Trinamool Congress) during the post-poll violence in West Bengal and they have approached the Supreme Court.

The application filed by the 17-year-old belongs to the scheduled caste community and was stopped by men and then she was raped by all four men one for hours, the girl stated that the men made comments such as “Our party is in power now let’s exploit them more and let’s teach her a lesson” 

They further also said that “We are teaching you this lesson because you supported BJP.” 

The application contains the report of how they approached the girl’s house and threatened the family that they would burn their family and kill them if they moved any further to the police.

Further,  the application filed by the 64-year-old lady stated that she was gang-raped by five men in front of her six-year-old grandson. She stated that she was slapped, beaten and handcuffed and then brutally raped by the men she had clearly mentioned that the men belonged to the supporters/ workers of the TMC. 

According to both the victims they have requested the court to hand over these matters to any independent agency or any special investigation team and hence, the trial should move out from the ambit of West Bengal in order to be free from any influence or interference.
