The Kerala High Court today turned down a plea seeking CBI Investigation in the tree felling case. The case is with regards to illegal felling of rosewood trees allegedly from a reserved forest at Muttil South village in Wayanad.

The State government got a temporary relief as the High Court rejected the Public Interest Litigation (PIL).

The PIL was filed by George Vattukulam of Thrissur and rejected by the Chief Justice of the High Court.

However, the High Court issued some guidelines for the special team which had been set up for this case and also the forest department regarding how to carry forward with the investigation.

The Court clearly stated that during the ongoing case the public will have full discretion to approach the Court and request another inquiry.

The Court also directed the special investigating team to conduct an in-depth investigation and look over all the accusations that have been laid down before the Court.
