The Chief Justice of Brazil’s Supreme Court has criticized the actions of President Jair Bolsonaro, and accused his actions an “attack on democracy”.

Chief Justice Luiz Fux accused Bolsonaro of encouraging people to disobey the rulings and orders of the Apex Court.

This statement came following the incident where Bolsonaro announced that he is not going to obey one of the orders stated by Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

“The Supreme Court will not tolerate threats to the authority of its decisions,” said Luiz Fux in one of the sessions. Further he added, “Besides representing an attack on democracy, such an attitude constitutes a ‘crime of responsibility’.”

Bolsonaro is accused of spreading fake news within the Government and the Court has also ordered investigation against him.

The President has also continued his verbal attacks and is continuously hitting out at the Court.

Also, he has portrayed himself as an innocent victim and has accused Court of blocking him.

In the reply, Court has stated, “This court will never accept threats to its independence. No one will close this court.”

Firing up his supporters with vows to defend their “freedom,” Bolsonaro railed against the high court and renewed his attacks on Brazil’s Electronic Voting System.
