Earlier, Petitions were filed through Advocate Iram Peerzada, alleging that admissions were made to the school without advertising vacancies or inviting any applications to fill those vacancies.

In the Petitions filed on behalf of a five-year-old alleged that some candidates who were granted admission had never applied and some got admission to the classes in which no seats were advertised. The Plea also reads, “The Petitioner upon making queries was shocked to discover that the respondent school had purportedly brought out a list on the basis of which it was proceeding to grant admission in a completely secretive and dubious manner”.

The Petitioner seeks Quashing of admission under paid category seats, draw of lots for the paid category be held afresh and also a fresh merit list in accordance with Law be prepared.

In the order passed last month, the Court has said that all the admissions that took place without the vacancies being listed in the 2021-22 prospectus, would be subject to the result of Writ Petitions pending before the Court.

The Delhi High Court has summoned Jamia Millia Islamia’s Registrar and Principal of Syed Abid Hussain Secondary School to address this matter of alleged favoritism.

Justice PrateekJalan, on Friday also released an Order stating the relevant records of admission that happened this year to be presented for the Court’s perusal.

The matter is listed for hearing on December 12.
