The Vacation Bench of Karnataka High Court Justice SG Pandit and Justice MG Uma heard the Petition filed by Karnataka State Election Commission.

The Petition was filed because State Government has deprived Election Commission from delimiting the constituencies and making Reservations List.

The memo was filed by the Counsel of Election Commission for early hearing as the Petition was pending and Supreme Court ordered to hold Zilla and Taluk Panchayat Elections immediately.

Court asked that instead of following Apex Court’s order why the memo was filed.

The Counsel replied that Election Comission has made the Reservation List and delimited the constituencies but now as State Government has deprived them they cannot hold Elections and announce the Schedule.

The Court opinionated that detail examination is necessary and it will heard on May 23.
