The Delhi High Court stated that making profit is neither a public nuisance nor a wrongful act while hearing a Petition that sought action against Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba for the wrongful promotion of Coronil as a cure for COVID-19 during the second wave.

“Let’s not go into commercial gain. Everyone works for profit. You have to make a case of public nuisance or wrongful act. Making profit is not a public nuisance nor a wrongful act,” stated Justice C Harishankar.

A bunch of the doctors association argued through their counsel that Ramdev Baba made irresponsible statements by saying that Allopathy is killing people and Coronil has a cure for it.

Senior Advocate Akhil Sibal who represented the doctors said that Ramdev marketed a drug for commercial use having a two-fold objective.

According to the Plea that was filed, Ramdev was creating doubts in minds of people with respect to efficacy of not only COVID-19 vaccines but also the allopathic treatment.
