R-Day tractor rally violence: 200 people detained, 300 cops injured, farmers to hold discussion

Delhi Police detained 200 people who were involved with the violence that broke out during farmer’s tractor rally in the city on Republic day. They are due for arrests soon.

Earlier today, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee member SS Pandher said that their protest was being maligned by miscreants since they had no plans of unfurling any flags in Red Fort.

There has been a call for a meeting to discuss the violence that broke out during the rally in Delhi yesterday, the discussion being organized by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has been a leading organization in the protest and they plan to meet at around 3 pm today.

Similarly, there is a security review meeting organized in Delhi by the Delhi Police Commissioner surrounding 26th January violence.

It has been made aware to the media that the Additionally central DCP’s operator was attacked with a sword at ITP during the violence.

New reports are now also stating that 300 cops are injured when earlier the number was estimated to be around 100.

An official stated that they will be looking into the matter with the help of CCTV footage and will take strict action against the culprits.

The police also stated that nearly 300 artists were rescued by the police in midst of the chaos when it took place in Red Fort. There has also been a suspension of 300 twitter accounts after the rally went violent by Twitter.

The incident took place yesterday while protesting the three farm laws that were passed by Centre earlier last year, farmers held a tractor rally at the Red Fort on republic day. However, violence broke out during the protests injuring many police officers and protestors.
