President appoints Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari as acting Chief Justice of Allahabad HC

The Centre notified the appointment of Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari as the Acting Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court with effect from 26th June.

The senior-most of Allahabad High Court, Justice Bhandari will be performing the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of High Court consequent upon the farewell of Justice Sanjay Yadav Chief Justice Allahabad High Court.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Munishwar Nath Bandh senior-most Judge of Allahabad High Court to perform the duties of the office of the Chief justice of that High Court with effect from 26th June 2021consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Sanjay Yadav” 

On July 5, 2007, Justice Bhandari was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Rajasthan and was transferred to Allahabad High Court and took oath as Judge on March 15, 2019.

Justice Bhandari has great experience as he had practice in Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur and Jaipur, Central Administrative Tribunal, Jaipur and initially in the Apex Court in civil, criminal, constitutional, labour and has specialisation in constitutional service, labour and arbitration matters.
