Plea filed in Calcutta HC over No Fixed Rates in some Private Hospitals

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Calcutta High Court against the State Health Commission for not fixing treatment rates for patients and diagnostics in private hospitals and nursing homes.

The said allegation violates the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Act, 2017. 

The Petition has been filed by Bhaskarnanda Halder through Advocate Srikanta Dutta. 

Dutta apprised, PIL filed in Calcutta HC against the State Health Commission for not fixing up rates for treatment and diagnostics in private hospitals and nursing homes and violation of the West Bengal Clinical Establishments Act, 2017 by some nursing homes and hospitals.”

Furthermore, the Advocate also said that a Statutory Mandate is to make regulations to the said effect, followed by strict compliance, which is not being done.
