A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the death of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader during a recent protest in Patna.
The PIL raises concerns about the circumstances surrounding the leader’s demise and calls for an impartial investigation to ascertain the truth.
The PIL, filed by a concerned citizen, highlights the importance of a fair and transparent inquiry into the incident to ensure justice for the deceased BJP leader and maintain public trust in the judicial system.
It alleges that the circumstances of the leader’s death during the protest are shrouded in uncertainty and require a thorough examination by an independent investigative agency.

The petition comes in the wake of a protest held in Patna last week, where clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement personnel turned violent. During the unrest, the BJP leader, whose identity is being withheld for security reasons, lost his life under circumstances that remain disputed.
The petitioner contends that given the political nature of the incident and the involvement of a prominent political party, an independent investigation is crucial to ensure a fair and unbiased inquiry.
