Pune Court granted Bail to Nitin Landge, Chairman of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Standing Committee and four other civic employees.

They were detained by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) last week, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1.18 lakh in context to the work orders.

ACB Deputy Superintendent Seema Mehendale stated that “All five have been granted bail and the court has imposed certain restrictions on them as part of the bail bond”.

They have also been ordered to be present before the ACB Officials on every first and third Monday of the month and not to influence the witnesses of the case.

The Deputy Superintendent also said thatACB will summon all members of the Standing Committee this week as part of the investigation”.

The Officials informed that “Other members are being investigated as Landge’s personal secretary had said that they too were consulted before deciding on the percentage of commission”.

There are 16 members in the PCMC Standing Committee including the Chairman where BJP dominates the Committee having 11 members and opposition with 4 members.
