The Supreme Court on Wednesday turned down a request for a report on the Investigations into the FIRs filed in several states over alleged Malpractices in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) held on September 12, claiming that any interference would harm a large number of students.

Justice L Nageswara Rao stated, “If we interfere, it will create a doubt. This will create a lot of confusion and will be detrimental to a large number of students. Sorry we do not want to interfere.”

The Supreme Court was hearing a Petition brought by Vishwanath Kumar and others, who claimed that on the day of the NEET UG exam, the Central Bureau of Investigation had filed a First Information Report against four accused persons and unknown others, Alleging that the examination process was rigged by using proxy candidates.

On October 4, Supreme Court rejected a similar Petition, stating that the exam’s cancellation could not be justified at the expense of thousands of students.
