On the 8th of November 2021, Girish Pal Tyagi the brother of BJP MLA Ajit Tyagi surrendered in front of a local Court for hiring shooters to Kill his maternal uncle Naresh Tyagi. He was on a run for the last 13 months after the Murder of his uncle.

Girish Pal Tyagi has been sent to 14 days of Judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Ghaziabad, who also rejected Tyagi’s Bail application.

A statement issued by an official stated, “He is the main Accused in the killing of his maternal uncle Naresh Tyagi, who is a government contractor.”

On the 9th of October 2020, Naresh Tyagi was going for a morning walk in Lohiya Nagar Officer’s Colony Park, where he was shot Dead by two men.

In November 2020, the Ghaziabad police had Arrested four men including Jitender Tyagi who revealed that he and Girish Tyagi planned Naresh Tyagi’s Murder.

Girish Tyagi was called to the Court for the fourth and last time by the Magistrate for the Hearing of the case. Later on, After the surrender, he was sent to the District Jail.

He reached the Court with his congregation of lawyers including Defense counsel Mohit Tyagi. Deputy Superintendent of Police of Kavi Nagar circle Anshu Jain stated, Keeping the sensitivity of the high-profile Murder case, a large police force was deployed outside the Court to avoid any untoward incident.”  Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary was also deployed because of its high-profile nature.

The Victim’s son Abhishek Tyagi was also present in the Court, who accused the relatives of Girish Tyagi of threatening to kill him and his family members.

He Pleaded for protection from the Police in a complaint filed by his lawyer Manoj Nagwanshi stating, “…Girish’s brother-in-law, Babli Tyagi, son Mohit Tyagi using force did not allow them to enter the Court. On protesting, the Accused threatened to kill him and his brothers.”
