Mumbai: Param Bir faces corruption inquiry based on Anup Dange’ allegations

The home department has ordered an inquiry against former police commissioner Param Bir Singh in connection with the allegation of corruption by police inspector Anup Dange.

Anup Dange wrote a letter to additional chief secretary claiming that Singh demanded Rs 2 crore from him to revoke his suspension. Singh denied the said allegations.

Earlier also an inquiry was conducted against Singh for dereliction of duty in connection with investigation of a vehicle with explosives near Mukesh Ambani’s residence on February 25.

DGP Sanjay Pandey has been assigned to investigate the allegations against Param Bir Singh.
