The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the Central Government to examine the facility of waiting list and make necessary modification in the Co-WIN App.

The direction comes after a petition was filed by Mukesh Dhanraj Wadhwani, who was apparently aggrieved by the registration of citizen for coronavirus vaccinations in Co-WIN App.

The petitioner contented that the slot of vaccination is given on the basis of availability of vaccines at a particular center which makes it difficult for the people applying for vaccine slots because once the number of registrations for a particular slot on a particular date of a particular center is completed, the people have to wait till the next day to make another attempt for registration.

Dhanraj submitted that because of the enthusiasm of people of age group 18-44, all the slots gets booked within 30 seconds to 3 minutes which makes it very difficult for a few citizens to get a slot even after making several attempts.

It was further highlighted that if any person tries to register after the registration of a particular center is done, then he is given a waiting list number which makes them impossible to try again the next day for a fresh attempt.

The Court, hearing the contentions, disposed the petition asking petitioner to make a comprehensive representation to the competent authority in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and also to the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
