The Kerala High Court has notified the modified filing process and sitting arrangements for the lockdown period.

As per the modifications, the court will function via video conferencing through two Division Benches and three Single Benches. Advocates have been allowed the option of filing cases physically in case they find it difficult through e-filing mode.

The Notification stated that it will go under review after 15 days or upon lifting of lockdown whichever is earlier.

Further, it has been clarified that apart from Commercial Courts, Munsiff-Magistrate Court, Kolenchery and Rent Control Court, Ernakulum filing module for Subordinate courts in the state is not approved.

Initially, the Advocates were expected to submit a copy of the file electronically within 45 days of filing; however, the same was objected by Advocate’s Association.
